The stock mirror housings on the 991 Carrera and 981 Cayman/Boxster come in body color -- a natural area to introduce carbon fiber without structural modification. AutoTecknic's Prestige Carbon mirror covers are full replacement units, not adhesive overlays: carbon fiber over a non-recycled plastic composite substrate, engineered to the OEM mirror housing dimensions of the 991 and 981 platforms. The non-recycled plastic core means the clips and tabs retain their strength over time rather than becoming brittle under heat and UV exposure.
